After Lupus diagnosis, Selena Gomez explores self-love.

During a Mindfulness Over Perfection: Getting Real On Mental Health session at SXSW, Selena Gomez talked about her recent journey toward self-love.  

The singer of Single Soon, her mother, and Wondermind co-founder Mandy , 

Teefey participated on the panel on Sunday.Dr. Jessica Stern, the moderator,  

questioned Gomez on if the publication of her mental health-focused 2022 Apple TV+ documentary My Mind & Me affected how she cared for herself. 

Gomez answered directly and without hesitation.  

"Listening to the things I was saying about myself in the beginning makes me sick. The Who Says singer stated,   

"It saddens me," adding that the movie was filmed over a period of six years. 

"But I think everybody can relate to that feeling," she went on to say, "It's important to speak to yourself with kindness, but I don't think I really understood that [at the start of the film]."
