Travis Kelce is open about his absence from the Chiefs’ 13–12 loss to the Chargers: “It didn’t feel right”

Even though the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers by a score of 13-12 in Week 18, Travis Kelce did not participate in the game. Even though the Chiefs were already assured of the third seed, the decision was made to rest both Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The fact that Kelce did not play, on the other hand, came as a surprise to some people because he was only 16 yards away from reaching 1,000 receiving yards for the season.

Travis Kelce has accumulated at least one thousand receiving yards in each of the seven seasons that had just passed, but the tight end stated on his New Heights podcast that he was not concerned about extending the run beyond the current season:

I was never interested in this. Simply put, I have never felt comfortable going out there and chasing statistics. I was kind of in and out of practice throughout the entire week, so on game day, I just jumped in and tried to get 15-16 yards, whatever it was that I was trying to get. Which is a great deal more difficult than what you guys believe it to be.Although I had a hundred and something against the Chargers early in that summer. It would be difficult to accomplish that twice against the team.
Further, Kelce stated:

In all honesty, it had absolutely nothing to do with my health. In all honesty, it had absolutely nothing to do with the question of whether or not I was going to sustain an injury. My gut told me that something wasn’t quite right. And for some reason, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I shouldn’t be playing the game in that manner whatsoever.

Even without Kelce and Mahomes, the Chiefs were able to defeat the Chargers by a score of 13-12, bringing their overall record for the season to 11-6.

The Chiefs, led by Travis Kelce, are scheduled to play host to the Miami Dolphins.
The Kansas City Chiefs, who have already secured the third seed, will play host to the Miami Dolphins on Super Wild Card weekend, which will take place on Saturday at eight o’clock Eastern Time.

Because the weather is anticipated to have a part in the game, Kansas City now holds a 4.5-point advantage heading into the playoff game. If the temperature drops below zero degrees Fahrenheit at the time of kickoff, it would be one of the coldest games in the history of the National Football League.

During this season, Travis Kelce scored five touchdowns and 93 receptions for a total of 984 yards. Kelce just had three receptions for a total of 14 yards during the game that took place during the regular season versus the Dolphins. because Miami did a nice job of preventing the top tight end from making any plays.
