If Meryl Streep wins her first Grammy, she will be one step closer to becoming an EGOT

Believe it or not, Meryl Streep is still eligible to receive Oscars, despite the fact that she is widely considered to be one of the most admired and recognized actors in the history of the industry. This year, the multitalented diva is fighting for a Grammy, and if she is successful in acquiring the golden gramophone, she will move one significant step closer to achieving the EGOT classification, which is extremely sought.

At the moment, Streep is being considered for the Grammy Award in the category of Best Narration and Storytelling Recording for an Audio Book. The field is primarily filled by well-known actors, musicians, and other individuals who typically narrate their own audiobooks; however, it is also available to contributions from other individuals. This time around, the well-known actress is being considered for the award since she narrated the audio version of the children’s book Big Tree, which was written by Brian Selznick.

Streep will have garnered three of the four letters that make up the acronym EGOT if she is successful in winning. Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony are the four most prominent awards in the entertainment industry. For those who are not aware of the acronym, EGOT stands for these four awards. Emmys are awarded for achievements in television, Grammys are the top accolade in music,

Oscars (also known as the Academy Awards) are given out for films, and the Tony Awards are given out to acknowledge the best of Broadway. It is true that Streep has won two of the four EGOT awards; in fact, she has won them multiple times. In the history of the Academy Awards, she is one of the very few performers to have won three awards for their performances. Not only that, but over her career, Streep has been awarded three Emmys.

In spite of the fact that she has never been awarded a Grammy, Streep has competed for them in the past. Despite the fact that she has had seven nominations in the past, she has never managed to emerge victorious. The majority of her nominations have been for her work as a narrator, despite the fact that she has been nominated in a variety of other fields, some of which have even changed names throughout the course of her career.

In this year’s competition, Meryl Streep will be competing against a diverse group of celebrities hailing from a variety of fields and professions. It is against Bernie Sanders, William Shatner, Rick Rubin, and Michelle Obama, who was formerly the First Lady of the United States, that she is contending for the Grammy Award for Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording.
